Oh. I'm sorry. It's just that I tried to right click to download the document and it wouldn't let me do it.

Yes, that looks like Rudolf, and the mother is "Wd" widowed... that is probably why they crossed out the last name...which is Licandro as you stated.

I'll get the image of the manifest through Ancestry...

Thank you very much for doing all this. I really appreciate all the time you're taking with this. I've been trying to find out about this section of the family for awhile now, especially since my fiancee's a Castrovinci. No one in the family knows anything other than that the family split up. Since they had the story about it, I've been wanting to try to find out about this branch of the family.

Would it be possible for you to put up the passenger list for Luigi Failla, who sailed on the S.S. Dante Aligheri on February 16, 1924 and arrived in New York on February 29, 1924? I am also trying to find pictures to download of these ships: the S.S. Marco Minghetti, Karamania, Prinzess Irene and Liguria.

Thank you very much. I noticed on a passenger list for the S.S. Liguria, there was a listing for an Onofuio (at least that's what it looked like) Failla (born abt 1854), also Esposito Piraim (1863) and children. I just tried a search on ancestry and nothing came up.
The children were Giovanna "Jennie" Failla (1891 to 1963), Maria Failla (born abt 1895), Lucia (1898) and Giuseppa (1901). They emigrated on September 15, 1905 from Palermo and arrived in New York on September 29th. Onofuio apparently died in Pennsylvania. The whole family was born in Castelbuono, Sicily.
Do you think there would be other documents about this family? I just got the listing the other day and actually sat down last night to get everything transcribed and added to the family tree.
Also, I am looking for the passenger list for a Vincenzo Cusimano. He was born on June 1, 1876 according to his WWI Draft Card. I saw him in the 1920 Census underneath Vincent Cusima*. According to that, it seemed like he emigrated about 1910, which is definitely wrong. I did a search on Ellis Island and didn't find anything that matched up. It seems to be a difficult one to be certain about.
His wife was named Rosa (born in 1882), according to her passenger list. She arrived in New York on April 30th 1909 and was going to be with her husband Vincenzo Cusimano. She traveled with two sons: Giuseppe (1904) and Luigi (1908). All three were born in Castelbuono. So Vincenzo Cusimano emigrated sometime before 1909.
One last thing I'm looking for about Vincenzo (Vincent) Cusimano is when he died. By the 1930 Census, Rosemarie is widowed and taking care of all the children herself. I heard something about falling off a truck, but don't know how true that is.
A week or so ago, I was able to finish getting information about how my fiancee's dad's family came to the United States. I almost have the information for her mom's family also now. I'm also trying to find an Antonia who was married to Antonio Failla, but that would have been sometime between April 11, 1904, when he arrived in the U.S., and July 26, 1905, when her son Louis was born. Antonio was listed as single on the ship manifest and was born in 1872 in Castelbuono.
I was told by my fiancee's mom that when Louis was about 4, the family moved back to Castelbuono. He came back on his own in 1924. At some point in the meantime, Antonia also had at least two other sons: Joseph and Michele. I don't have any information about them either.

Thank you very much for the two pictures. I was doing searches yesterday for the ships and wasn't having much luck, although I did find the San Giorgio, which I had been looking for also and the picture of the Dante Alighieri, which was the ship Luigi Failla came on.

Checked the ship images on Ancestry (they have over 3600 of them) and there is no image for Marco Minghetti, Liguria, or Prinzess Irene :-(

You'll have to keep googling unless someone here on the forum has a better resource to offer...

Thank you! It says he's going to see his uncle, Giuseppe Abbate in Philadelphia. Abbate has to be the maiden name for Antonia, Luigi's mother, right?
