He was called gieseppe mario caira born on 1 april 1890 in atina, caserta, italy and came to the uk during the world and had a hair dressing salon here and got his citzenship in may 1920. He married here and it would be interesting to find out more about him.

Hi, information regarding Guiseppe Mario Caira born 1890, from what understanding I have he did leave Italy to come to England with his father, Guisepe & Antonia Caira and with his brothers Michel born approx 1888(not sure), had one son named Graham Caira in the police force. Guiseppe Caira married Maud Hilsden in London. Hairsalon in North London, Islington(unsure). Went to the WW1 as a barber and positioned in France. His daughters Blanche born 1914, Violet born 1916, Doris born 1920, Olive born 1913(died), But first child Male died at birth. Descendants. Guisepe Mario Caira had a sister named Nini and Emelia and brother Luigi, these last three were born in England can check census.
Close family relatives the Pomonti(check spelling)all lived in London.
Decendants from Blanche Caira with father unkown are Shirley Caira born London moved to New Zealand had daughter Helen Caira moved Australia and intern names her daughter Caira Mia. Information to find Guiseppe Mario Caira's Father and Mothers birth place would be greatful or any other family lines which may be relevant.

I am Graham Caira, a retired policeman referred to in one of the above posts.

Gieseppe Mario Caira known to me as Joseph Caira was my Uncle. He had a hairdressing salon in Fonthill Road, Finsbury Park and I'm sure that I have a photograph somewhere of the shop.

He had two brothers, my father Michael Angelo Caira, Luigi (Louis) Caira and four sisters, Maria (Mary), Emelia (Amelia), Nina (Ninny) and Rosa (Rose), not in any strict order of birth. Maria married David Jones, Emelia married John Pape and Rosa married David Cennamo.

Their parents were Ferdinando Caira and Maria Mancini who were born in Atina in March 1864 and 1863 respectively.

Joseph, (Gieseppe), retired to Canvey Island, Essex where he died in the 1980's and is buried in the local churchyard.

I'd be happy to communicate with anyone who wants further information.
