Thanks Livio. I just tried to do that but the attachment is too big. Any suggestions? I tried saving them to a zip file, but still too large. I wold love for you to decipher them for me. Is there any other way I can get them to you? Can you give me your email address and I can get them to you that way?
Thanks so much

One name that I think I can read is "Lucia Alopari" and another that looks like "Lecca" or "Leucca". ...
If you post the documents, we can try to decipher them for you.

i also tried to save the images and them open them in a program to enlarge them. they were way too fuzzy to read. try sending one page at a time via email. i'll send you a private message with my email.

the name alopari that you identified do not show up. it is possible that the name is actually the name leucio rather than a surname. leucio is a fairly common name in san salvatore as he was a popular saint.

ann marie:

the document you sent via private message is the birth extract as part of antonio pacelli's marriage in 1899. from that and the pacelli records i have i can tell you the following for certain:

antonio pacelli- born 08/25/1876 to raffaele and lucia massaro

raffaele pacelli - born 09/15/1836 to antonio and maria teresa casbarra
maria barbara pacelli - born 12/01/1839 to antonio and maria teresa casbarra

antonio pacelli - born 04/20/1806 to bartolomeo and barbara rabuano
francesco pacelli - born 1799, died 08/20/1822, to bartolomeo and barbara rabuano

bartolomeo pacelli - born 1774, died 03/31/1837, to antonio and aurelia acquaviva

now i have a bit of a problem in figuring out your line in that there are 2 antonio pacellis born around the same time:

antonio pacelli - born 1721, died 04/17/1786, to ferdinando
antonio pacelli - born 1724, died 08/29/1796, to felice

i got the last 2 records from the marriage processetti for san salvatore so i will need to check to whom the 2 antonio's belong. i can do that next week hopefully as i have the civil records on permanent loan until i iget my pacelli line and their relatives sorted out.

ann marie:

you are most welcome.

if we are related it would be on the pacelli side no earlier than 1630.

the world is full of strange coincidences. my name is thomas anthony michael priscilla (changed from pacelli around 1910) and i was born on april 20th. anthony in honor of my great grandfather, michael in honor of my grandfather. thomas in honor of my dad. i noticed that one of your great-great-....was named antonio pacelli and was born on april 20th. i guess the other side was asking for a favor from me. hopefully they are happy.

amm:

for records before this you will need to contact the church(s) in san salvatore to see if they will look up information in their records. suanj sent me the address for the one in town that is still there from that period where my pacelli's were baptised - saint maria assunta. here is the draft letter i am going to send shortly as an example:

Parrocchia S. Maria Assunta
Largo Chiesa
82030 San Salvatore Telesino (BN)
ITALY

Reverendo Padre,

Saluti.

Tommaso Priscilla (Pacelli)

you would just substitute bartolomeo for pasquale, 1774 for 1739 and antonio for gennaro.

I wanted to start a new thread, although a google search of san salvatore telesino brought me to this thread which seems like it may not be a coincidence :)

I'm new to this site, in my ancestry travels somehow not come across it...
I decided last year that I wanted to see how possible it was for me to obtain dual citizenship in Italy/America, since I knew my grandmother's family is all very Italian. There are two lines to research Pacelli and Prosceno and I'm coming to the same problems with both. Pacelli is the easier because of the lack of change in spelling its cut and dry to find the right people. (Prosceno is spelled so many different ways all over the place I cant find a good starting place once I leave US birth certificates). I don't live in Italy, speak Italian or have anyone in Italy who can track this stuff down for me.

this is a quick rundown of my Pacelli tree:
gabriele pacelli 1824
amilia casbarra san salvatore telisino italy
children
(1) severo pacelli married emma merchionni (he was a war hero)
(2) salvatore pacelli married maria d'alisio, children
gilda pacelli married frank procenso(see, more spellings for prosceno)
children - joseph, francis, bobby, theresa (this is my grandmother)

(3) virgilio pacelli married filomenia cofranciso, children
luigi pacelli married francis bruno, children virgil, filomenia; maria aurelia pacelli married albert delpizzo, children
rose, paul, ann, doris, &albert; guiliana pacelli died coming to usa

(4) gabriella pacelli married john caruso children
rosetta, lenora,joann

(5) rosina pacelli no children

(6) amalia pacelli married walter webb then walter yeatman children
walter, james, thomas

(7) julia pacelli married william williams children

maryann, linda, michael
(4) filippo giatano pacelli married-------romano children

antonio, enrico

(5) giovanni pacelli married grace---------- children
amos, gabriele,sammy,beatrice, delores, arelia

severo died in italy, salvetore was my grandmother's father, virgilio died in Delaware ,giovanni died in phila., filippo died in italy,he went back in 1920
had two children

My family in America is from Wilmington, DE as well. What I'm looking for is how to find birth dates for salvatore and gabriele who were born in Italy and subsequently how to use those birth dates to get birth certificates.

There may be a post on this website currently on how to find these documents, if anyone can link me something relevant instead of repeating that's great. Any info on my specific family would be great also. I've found several people thorugh forums who have led me to more and more info, hopefully soon I will get what I need :)
